SUMMARY

The Power Platform Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of intelligent automation and business solutions using Microsoft Power Platform. This role is a key resource in building modern, AI-enhanced applications that drive digital transformation across the organization. The position requires expertise in current Power Platform capabilities including Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven), Power Automate (Cloud and Desktop flows), Power BI, Co-Pilot, and Dataverse. The developer will collaborate with business stakeholders, citizen developers, and IT teams to deliver scalable, secure, and innovative solutions while adhering to governance standards.
 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Power Platform solutions using modern development practices and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) principles
  • Implement AI-infused business solutions using Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and generative AI capabilities within Power Platform
  • Develop and manage Power Apps (Canvas and Model-driven) applications with responsive design and optimal performance
  • Create complex automated workflows using Power Automate, including cloud flows, desktop flows, and business process flows
  • Build conversational AI experiences using Power Virtual Agents (Co-Pilot) and integrate them with enterprise systems
  • Architect secure solutions with appropriate data loss prevention (DLP) policies, Microsoft Purview compliance, and environment security best practices
  • Implement and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards integrated with enterprise data sources
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions and user stories
  • Establish and maintain governance through Center of Excellence (CoE) practices and adoption of the Power Platform CoE starter kit
  • Mentor citizen developers and provide technical guidance on Power Platform capabilities and best practices
  • Develop and maintain integration patterns between Power Platform and other Microsoft 365 services (Teams, SharePoint, Viva, etc.)
  • Implement secure API connections and integrate with external systems using RESTful APIs and connectors
  • Participate in peer code reviews and solution design evaluations
  • Maintain system documentation and knowledge sharing repositories
  • Support production applications with appropriate monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues
  • Stay current with Power Platform innovations and roadmap through continuous learning
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Proven experience developing solutions across the Power Platform suite (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Pages, Power Virtual Agents/Co-Pilot)
  • Strong knowledge of Power Fx formula language and application design patterns
  • Experience implementing security best practices, including DLP policies, environment management, and Microsoft Purview
  • Understanding of ALM practices for Power Platform with GitHub/Azure DevOps integration
  • Experience with Power Platform CoE implementation and governance
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and Power Platform CLI
  • Knowledge of integration patterns with Microsoft 365 services and enterprise applications
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and custom connectors
  • Strong understanding of application security and governance principles
  • Experience with Power Platform solution acceleration and the use of ISVs is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with modern data architecture patterns and data management practices is beneficial
  • Experience with low-code/no-code development frameworks beyond Power Platform is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Visual Studio Code, Node.js (LTS), Git, and Power Apps CLI for local development and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) of pro-code solutions
  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) certification preferred

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in software development with focus on Power Platform
  • This role requires staying current with Power Platform monthly updates and new feature releases
  • Experience working in agile development environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring citizen developers and building low-code development capability
  • Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical team members
  • Commitment to continuous learning given the rapid evolution of Power Platform capabilities
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid model with appropriate onsite presence as business needs require

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with Arete salary and benefit policy.

FLSA OVERTIME CATEGORY

Job is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
