Summary
Lead design, development, maintenance, and production support of Talking Books using Amazon Alexa Skills to search/browse the collection, wishlist and bookshelf, voice-only playback/streaming, Login with Amazon, and integration with the RealSAM Dialog Engine.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years developing and maintaining voice-only user-interface applications on the Amazon Alexa platform
- Demonstrated production experience with Alexa Skills Kit (ASK), dialog/intent models, and skills hosted on AWS
- Able to lead sprint-level technical decisions, code reviews, and demos to government SMEs and the product owner
- Must be U.S. Citizen
Desired Skills
- Node.js (primary skill runtime); Java and/or Python as needed for services
- REST APIs, JSON, microservices; familiarity with SOAP
- OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, Login with Amazon (LWA)
- Streaming audio for talking books, including OPUS and related codecs (MP3, AMR-WB+ awareness)
- Production monitoring and defect triage (Sentry; TestRail/Appium a plus)
- Platform encryption/cryptography and IT security practices for CUI / moderate systems
- GitHub or GitLab source control; documented, maintainable code
- RealSAM or similar proprietary dialog engines
- DAISY, WCAG 2.1/2.2, Section 508, voice-only UX
- Federal SDLC, Agile Scrum, ATO support artifacts
